Hi cxers, just watched a you tube piece on cleaning carbs( goes for over an hour)the person dipped the carbs in a stainless steel pot heated with Pinesol as the liquid with great results. problem is Pinesols main component is Clorox. Clorox has some bad side effects though & user beware. but anyway a great carb video-cheers rob.

...actually, 'Clorox' is a company, not a chemical....
"In 2018, Pine-Sol can be found on store shelves with an ingredient label stating "Contains Pine Oil" but this is not listed as an active ingredient. Pine oil in modern Pine-Sol seems to be added for fragrance only, as the product still uses glycolic acid as the sole active ingredient."
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glycolic_acid for more info on that.
I suspect that any weak acid heated will do the same thing to carbies....
