Sutton Challenge 500 vs 650
« Started on: 06-Feb-11, 03:00 »
Hello you 650 people  rollingpin0.gif (and our original & best 500 supporters.)

Just for fun, I'm looking for a way to show whether the 650 is in fact more powerful than the 500 at Sutton.

Now I'm not suggesting that we do anything illegal or "Hoonish"!  2angel  and yes, I'll still take a swim in the lake for my 650 banter. 2cheer

But if a 500 would like to take on a 650 on say...."The first to hit 100kmh", "the best speed in first gear", "the fastest rider to the bathroom in leathers",  or something, I'd love to hear about it.

Of course, my Wasp will be up for a run and I'd be delighted, but it isn't about me.  It's about finding out if the extra Victa lawnmower that the 650's carry is worth having.

I'm looking for idea's.

Any takers?

cheers

Doddsy.

Steve

Simple-

two containers (unbreakable would be nice - but plastic seems a good choice)
one with 500cc and one with 650cc
each team of 650 and 500 supporters line up - then see how far you can throw your own sized container....
no run ups - just a standing start - one judge only - unbiased of course...
take the winner of each team and they swap containers - the longest throw is then the winner and gets to keep the others container...for next years return throw off.........dumb but harmless........

That doesn't sound like much of a challenge for the 500's.   2angel The 500's will win hands down cool0010  lmao

This sounds like fun - but alas, I don't have any shagged 650 pistons either. All the pistons I have (4) are still in pretty good condition - and will one day be used in resleeved bores I wager...
Anyone else have a 650 piston that has had the gong? (chipped ring lands, cracked gudgeon boss or seized would be a good candidate)

I reckon dodgy should ride a 650 into the lake (with his T shirt on of course) and then tow it out with a 500.then he should ride the 500 into the lake and see if the 650 he has just retrieved can reciprocate. Now there'e a fair test.

Only part of the above idea's are appealing  :well:

It should be a test of appeal.  How about a show & shine prize for the best "chick magnet"?  Judged equally by all the girls that attend Sutton.  And if discrimination is a concern, we could have one for the best "Bloke magnet" (but Paulf has to sit his CX900 out on that one. & Coops has to be tied to a tree before the bikes are rolled in to keep the 650 Turbo out).  lmao
